What is Tignes minus ski?
Tignes is not all about ski, that’s for sure. There are also bowling, golf, swimming and many indoor sports you can practice at the sports hall. Still, what most catches the eye at this resort is the large snowpark on Signal piste in the Palet sector. There are two halfpipes in Tignes snowpark, one for beginners and an expert one at the bottom of Grand Motte, between Carline and the Double M.
Summer in Tignes has plenty of opportunities for water activities like waterjump, ski jumping or surf. Indeed, surfing in Tignes is possible, and that’s not all – Tignes lake is also suited for navigation with small boats. Now is probably a good time to mention once more that the 18-hole golf course in Tignes is the highest in Europe, and also one of the highest in the world.
So there’s no need to worry if you don’t know how to ski as other activities abound, and there are also many instructors and specially designed places to learn just about anything sports-wise. For example, at the sports centre in Tignes you can train in basketball, tennis, football or volleyball in the afternoon, or take yoga lessons, climb walls and play squash in one of the 2 squash rooms available for only 5€ a half an hour.
